Does grief ever really go away? I believe it ebbs and flows like waves.

Over the past 18 years I’ve experienced big waves and little waves of grief. Sometimes frequently and other waves with long stretches in between.

And for some reason this year the waves have been large and frequent. But I’ve never drowned.

Here’s to staying afloat to anyone in the “one living parent” club. I see you.

Sometimes the waves make it seem like they’re going to take you under, but I promise you, that if you remember that grief is just a form of love, you’ll never drown.

A little weekly recap!

Last Friday I got to see two of f my faves in concert 🎶. @lovealexisley and @maxwell 😍 .

Then on Saturday I went to my first black tie boxing 🥊 gala.

On Sunday, I went to a brunch @neimanmarcus hosted by @womenfaithbusiness and @stephaniebauchum. Somehow I ended up on the panel to share about self-care for as a woman entrepreneur. 🤷🏿‍♀️☺️😬

Later in the week I ended up missing ballet 🩰🤦🏿‍♀️, but made it to my modern dance class. (Swipe through to see me struggling 😬🥴😆).

Then I ended the week with some boxing of my own. 🥰.

This weekend, I’m resting 🙌🏿!
